Professor of History in Furniture Restoration Styles and Techniques at the Istituto Andrea Palladio in Verona, he is one of the most highly regarded consultants for museums, tribunals, antique shows as well as for public and private associations.
His personal, unbridled passion for the world of wood has inspired him to write a book "Dentro il Mobile".
Its first edition was published by Neri Pozza in 1992, and later distributed in pamphlets by the magazines "Cose Antiche" and "Brava Casa". In 2005 the prestigious publishing house Zanichelli printed a second edition which was edited, expanded and updated.

Giuliano Barbon
Antique Restoration

In 1979, at 23 years of age following various occupational experiences in the fields of Restoration and Decorative and mosaic artwork on wood surfaces, he started his own business of hand-crafted Restoration and Gold Plating of Antique Furniture. In collaboration with craftsmen he has performed restoration work in villas found in the Trevigiano and Venetian regions, for local and state government works, antique dealers as well as private clients. Having learned the art of gold- plating and varnishing in a workshop in Venice, he uses it in his own workshop. He is specialized in the fields of inlaid wood and conservation restoration of 17th, 18th and 19th century works and uses materials, animal-based glues and pastes, varnishes, waxes, and solidifiers that abide by the patinas of those times. From 1980 to 1983 he lived in Marche and Tuscany regions in order to better research and learn different techniques. Currently, he is a consultant for Borma Wachs.

Russell Pike
Repair and modern restoration

Russell Pike is 43 years old and lives in Nottingham UK.
Mr Pike has accumulated outstanding experience in his career of over twenty years working in the field of wood maintenance and repair, putting his talent to use on numerous wood species.
For the past seven years he has been developing an association which specializes in wood and stone framework and has attracted many collaborators.
In 2007 he established an official training centre to teach a wide range of repair techniques, using Borma Wachs products and becoming part of our team.

Sig. Fernando Barca
Assistant technician

Born in 1950 in South America he has been active in the field of wood varnishing since 1974.
Over the years he has worked in the field of varnishing for leading Italian style furniture companies in the Bassano del Grappa area. Since 1994 he has been agent/technician for leading varnishing companies and has put his professional experience to use as Head of Production of Hurtado Muebles of Valencia in Spain.
Intrigued by the world of restoration and repair he has agreed to join the Academy Project with great enthusiasm.
